Powerhouse of an audiobook. It's so well written and right on target. I was totally hooked!
(audiobook review)
I have never related so much to so many various aspects of a life. By minute 2 of chapter 11, my eyes just swelled with tears, like you are calling me out on my own thoughts. Thank you for sharing your story. You have provided a wonderful gift to your readers!

You have such talent! I started reading your book last night, and I COULD NOT put it down! You were raw, straight forward, and honest.
Engaging with emotional depth. Peters shows limitless compassion and support for women wanting to break the "cycle of unhealthy relationships". Though the book's length is 8+ hours, it went by quickly and is easy to listen to. (audiobook review)
You definitely have a gift for words. You are brave and draw your reader in at the start. I'm identifying with the codependency, and lots of readers will benefit from your words.
I couldn't stop reading it. I absolutely loved it. God bless you for opening up and telling your story.
I loved how easy this book was to read and how much you can nod as you are reading saying YEP!! The codependent characteristics were spot on and helped show behavior with realistic situations. The help Melissa found was crucial in her finding herself and giving herself grace to accept her flaws and successes.
I couldn't put this book down. Melissa's brilliant storytelling draws you in and gives you an honest look into codependency and practical lessons to overcome it. She shares with such openness and bravery to show that we are not alone in our struggles and that healing and hope is within our reach.
Check out Melissa's interview with Kevin Wall (AM 670 Las Vegas, NV) as they discuss the meaning behind the title and why Melissa wrote I Gave Up My Husband for Lent. Recorded 2.14.24
